Jose Americo Bonatti is graduated in Medicine in 1982 at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is PhD in Medicine area Ophthalmology. He has developed in an interdisciplinary team of medical engineering at the University Hospital of  the University of Sao Paulo in a pioneer way in Brazil some  ophthalmic equipments like binocular indirect ophthalmoscope, videokeratoscope for corneal analysis and a device for generating and measuring intraocular pressure for experimental ocular studies.
